star sign information:  Those born under the sign of Cancer, ruled by the mysterious Moon, are one of the zodiac’s enigmas. It is fair to say that most Cancers are a bundle of contradictions. Compassionate and caring with friends, family and lovers, yet they can cut to the bone with their jealous remarks and ever-changing moods. Endearingly eccentric on one hand, and on the other, insecure about how others see them. Like their astrological symbol - the Crab - Cancers can appear hard and insensitive on the outside. However, for those of us who know and love a “Moon Child”, we understand that deep below lies a softness and sensitivity that makes them so very special.

personality: Sofia has tried, gone through, and experienced a lot in life so far. As a teenager, she followed the crowd for a while experimenting with drugs, and alcohol, soon realizing none of it was for her. Sofia enjoys getting lost in a good book, and pretty much keeps to herself most of the time. She’s quiet, slightly shy, but once opened up and stripped down to the core she’s really very loud and crazy. A free spirit at heart, she can’t stay in one place for too long. She’s got a tough exterior, but as stated before - once you’ve gotten to the core, she’s really a very soft, sensitive, loving person. She’ll do quite honestly anything for those she loves, and she has the weirdest sense of humor.

biography: Sofia grew up in a decent household, very loving parents, and she was an only child - although many times she asked her parents for a brother and (or) sister, it never happened. She was attracted to music instantly as a child, and pretty much headphones on her ears 24/7 with not a care in the world. At that very young age, she had asked her parents to buy her guitar, which they did. As she got older she started collecting them. Guitars were all over her walls, ceilings, closet, anywhere noticeable or unnoticeable. She was even able to take them apart and replace certain things if the instruments were to ever stop working, or just needed parts to be replaced. She was able to not only play the guitar, but build, take apart, and rebuild them as well. Which attracted her to the music scene even more as she turned sixteen.

Going through high school, Sofia of course kept up with her guitars, music and such else, but after a while she also got pulled into the wrong crowds. She started experimenting with drugs, and alcohol, but soon enough realized that wasn’t anywhere near where she wanted her life to go. As she got into senior year, she noticed a photography class being taught at her school, and for some reason it didn’t catch her attention till then. She thought it might be a fun time, so she signed up for the class and ended up loving it, asking her parents to buy her, her first camera. Her first camera was a Nikon, and she carried it around everywhere she went, especially to the concerts she was constantly attending, Warped tours, etc. She was completely attracted to the music scene, in love; if you will.

After turning eighteen, she attended only about three years of community college before packing up her things, and moving off to the lands of Arizona. Where she started attending even more concerts, and doing more freelance photography. Some how, some way, along the way a friend of her’s that she met as soon as she moved out to Arizona, got her a job at Rise Records as an Intern over the summers, every summer. And with her skills, it also got her more jobs to tour occasionally with bands that needed a tour photographer, or even a guitar tech. Sofia now lives off making a few bucks doing some freelance, and sometimes guitar teching for those in need, and every summer interning near the music scene. The music scene has always captured her heart, and now she’s allowed to be anywhere near it almost every day.
